Here is my guide to Six Simple & Sustainable Swaps that can be easily made. And, they won't cost the earth or your bank balance.

1. Toilet Roll

Super simple swap! 'Who gives a crap?' offer recycled, plastic free toilet paper. Easy subscription options too. These rolls last for AGES too.

2. Shampoo Bars

Swapping to a natural shampoo bar is one of the best decisions I have made! My hair has never been healthier or shinier! I've tried a lot of brands, so do experiment because some did not agree with my hair. My favourite brand Soap & Soul are linked below - the purple bar for blondes is just incredible!

3. Solid Soap Bars

Getting rid of all those pesky shower gel bottles has been amazing. I am an avid skincare/beauty product fan but good products really can be simple. I used to hate soap as it left my skin feeling dry. But there are so many soap bar options that are nourishing and moisturising. I buy my favourite choice from my local eco shop and they're made about 10 minutes from my house but you can get them online. Tilda's Tribe soap bars are made with goats milk from their own farm. I do recommend looking to see if there are local options near you too.

4. Refillable Deodorant

I have tried a variety of natural and eco friendly deodorants but Wild deodorant is the one I love! It works, it's sustainable and it looks good too! Wild offer refillable all natural deodorants inside an aluminium case. There are many natural scent options and them come easily though the letter box. Give it a go and you won't regret it.

5. Reusable Cotton Pads

Cotton pads are so handy to remove makeup and nail varnish but they usually come wrapped in plastic and are rather wasteful. I have been using reusable cotton pads for a long time now, simply pop them into a little cotton bag and in the washing machine and they will last for ages! There are so many options out there, in a variety of sizes too. I always look for a natural material (cotton, bamboo, hemp) and organic where possible. These Upcircle ones are a great option.

6. Reusable Sanitary Pads

This was a swap that I was very hesitant to make. I was extremely skeptical about the effectiveness and cleanliness of a reusable pad so I held off for a long time. Now, I wish I would have made the swap sooner - they have transformed my periods! Reusable pads are so comfortable, they work and are easy to clean and look after. I am going to write a blog post dedicated to these very soon! I will only use one brand now Lilah Pads:

These swaps are easy to make, effective and can have such a positive impact on reducing plastic waste as well as your own health. Let me know if you give any of these a go!
